INTRODUCTIONAuthor Tetsuo Hara's "last Fist of the North Star series" has at last
become an animated series after proudly achieving record-breaking sales
of over 10 million comics!
The stage is set in Shanghai during the 1930s. Kenshiro, called the most wild, and yet severe man in the 1,800 year history of the Hokuto Shinken style, strides into the dog-eat-dog capital of sin. He is the 62nd successor of the Hokuto Shinken style, and the uncle of Fist of the North Star's Kenshiro.
Believing that "those who fight with true conviction can change fate," Kenshiro heads to Shanghai to sweep away evil....
STORY
In the 1930s, Shanghai, called the "International City of Wickedness," is divided into three sections: the Chinese World, the French Settlement and the International Settlement. Each section is an extraterritorial, self-governing body filled with the people from over 60 countries all living together and wars erupt every day.
In the streets rampant with crime, powerful men in the underworld call for conquest. Competition for control between two secret societies, CHINPAN (##/Green Gang), who respects loyalty above all, and the atrocious KOKAKAI (###/Red Flower Gang), has reached violent extremes. In the midst of this inexhaustible strife, desire and grief are born.
Terrified of assassination, the emperor of Manchukuo comes to Japan in order to acquire his protection, searching for the supremely powerful "Yan Wang," who once singlehandedly drove the Red Flower Gang to the brink of annihilation. Meanwhile, the one-time "Yan Wang," Kenshiro Kasumi, was spending his days in peace in Japan. However, after becoming involved in a scheme set by Kim, commander of the Imperial Guard, he was about to set foot again into a world of brutal fighting....
