In the last days of the Edo Shogunate, Japan is suddenly invaded by the aliens to force open the country. Samurai were forced to put down their swords, and were treated with disregard. Gintoki Sakata, a former samurai once feared as the "White Demon", works nonchalantly as a handyman with his friends Shinpachi and Kagura. One day, Gintoki receives a request from a swordsmith to find a cursed sword Benizakura that absorbs the spirits of people and evolves into a monster. As Gintoki follows the track, he finds out that the sword is stolen by the famous killer Nizo, who received a mandate from Gintoki's old comrade Shinsuke Takasugi, conspiring to overthrow the government. Gintoki and his friends must now face Takasugi and his clan to retrieve the cursed sword and bring back peace in Edo...
