Synopsis

Tsuchiya is a manga assistant who has drifted into his 40s still working under the successful artist Yoshizumi, having never managed to publish his own work.
He quietly watches as his much younger colleagues go independent one after another, while there is something about the new assistant, Yamada, that just doesn’t sit right with him.　Meanwhile, Ushioda, an editor at a publishing house, has hit her 30s feeling increasingly out of place. Having joined the industry simply out of a vague fondness for manga, she struggles with the gap between herself and her passionate colleagues. To make matters worse, she discovers that the new work of Yoshizumi has been snatched away by a rival publisher.　Upon learning that Tsuchiya will not be part of Yoshizumi’s next project, Ushioda approaches him with a proposal: to develop a brand-new manga together with Yamada.
