Synopsis

A pawnshop owner was killed in a ruined building. Though no critical evidence was found, the case was closed when a suspect committed suicide. But detective Sasagaki is not convinced out of his professionally trained hunch. Little Yukiho, the beautiful daughter of the suspect, and Ryouji, the son of the victim with pensive eyes, somehow linger in Sasagaki's head. Later, mysterious incidents occur one after another around grown Yukiho. With the assiduous investigation of Sasagaki, a surprising connection between Yukiho, Ryouji and the incidents gets revealed at last...

Introduction

Based on the best selling novel by Japan's most famous writer Keigo Higashino, the film is about a mystery that all started with a murder of a pawnshop owner, and the lives the daughter of the suspect and the victim's son have chosen to take afterwards. Directed by uprising young yet acclaimed director Yoshihiro Fukagawa, the film stars Maki Horikita from "Memoirs of a Teenage Amnesiac" (2010) as the beautiful daughter of the suspect, and Kengo Kora of "Solanin" (2010) as the son of the victim, supported by a veteran actor Eiichiro Funakoshi from "Accidental Kidnapper" (2010) as the unrelenting detective.
